12/1990 - 01/1991:Research fellow in Bulgarian National Astronomical Observatory
09/1994:Max-Planck Institutefor Astronomyin Heidelberg
12/1993 - 06/1997:PhD student in Beijing Astronomical Observatory of CAS. And 04/1995-08/1996, as joint trained PhD student, studied and worked in Arcetri Astrophisical Observatory, the title of dissertation:" Study of young stellar objects and star forming regions", 06/1997, PhD awarded.
07/1997 - today:associate research professor, full research professor, supervisor of PhD students, National Astronomical Observatories, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
07/2001-10/2001:Max-Planck fellowship, as a visiting astronomer in the institute of theoretical astrophysics of Heidelberg University .
03/2003 - 06/2003,visiting professor in the institute of astronomy of National Central University in Taiwan
06/2005,visiting scientist in National Astronomical Observatory of Japan and Okayama Astrophysical observing station
09/2008 - today,as Principal Scientist, in charge of Sino-German submillimeter telescope project and seting up the Yangbajing Astronomical Observing station of NAOC; as a visiting astronomer in Cologne University  in Germany and Gornergrat observatory in Switzerland  for several times;  Aslo as executive director  working for founding NAOC-TU joint center for astrophysics and Tibet-CAS joint key laboratory for astrophysics.
As PI, responsible for a couple of items of project fund in recent years.

Research Fields

Multi-wavelength observational and theoretical study of star formation

Star formation and early stellar evolution is one of the hottest topics in modern astrophysical research fields. To understand star formation is the basis of understanding of planet and galaxy formation. Star formation process is extremely complex, which includes a lot of physical process such as collape, accretion, outflow, shock wave, collision and so on. Besides the self-collape of molecular clouds,the external trigger mechanism could play a key role for next generation of star formation. Our present project is focusing on the study of trigger star formation by molecular clouds collision and the interaction between HII regions /bubble or SNRs and the surrounding molecular clouds. We will try to obtain a large sample of candidates of possible clouds collision and the molecular clouds associated with HII regions and high-mass stars, on the basis of CO molecular line survey and other observational data on different wavelenghs, and to make millimeter, submillimeter, radio, optical and infrared observations. Then we will try to diagnose the external trigger condition and mechanism of star formation, and to build theoretical models. Our results will be helpful for understanding the trigger mechanism and process of Galactic star formation. It also can provide  with very important evidence of the process of Galactic evolution.
